    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What does HO scale mean and why is it the most popular?

HO scale (or H0) has a ratio of 1:87, meaning the model is 87 times smaller than the real-life train. It is the most beloved scale because it offers the perfect balance: the details are large enough to be admired (and repaired by hand), yet the models occupy a reasonable amount of space in an average home. The track gauge (the distance between the rails) is 16.5 mm.

What is the difference between Analog and Digital (DCC) systems?

In an Analog system, power is sent directly into the tracks; the more you turn the dial, the faster all the trains on that track will move. In a Digital (DCC) system, the track has constant power, and you send individual commands to each locomotive’s “brain” (the decoder). This allows you to run multiple trains independently on the same line, turn lights on/off, or activate sounds separately.

Can I run locomotives from different manufacturers on the same track?

Yes, as long as they follow the same power system. Most manufacturers (such as Piko, Roco, Fleischmann) use the two-rail system (DC/DCC). The main exception is the Märklin system, which uses a “third contact” (small studs in the middle of the track) and is not directly compatible with other brands without modifications.

Worldwide Delivery Included – Guaranteed Safety for Layouts

We ship our passion anywhere in the world (Worldwide Delivery Included), placing a special emphasis on protecting fragile structures. We understand that a complete layout is a delicate ecosystem of buildings, modeled terrain, and vegetation. Therefore, we use a professional packaging system with internal reinforcements and shock-absorbing materials that completely isolate the layout from vibrations during transit. Regardless of the distance, we ensure that the scenery and buildings reach you exactly as they left our workshop: intact and ready to be displayed.

How do I properly maintain a model railroad?

Dust is enemy number one. We recommend periodically cleaning the tracks with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth. Locomotive wheels should also be cleaned to ensure perfect electrical contact. A dedicated cleaning kit and a soft brush for dust are essential tools for any modeler.
